Young Oldham Dance

Outputs: Planned, interactive video piece and live dance performance

The focus of the project is to work with Young Oldham Dance, a collection of young people aged 16-18 who have been working together for a number of years and have performed at many venues across Greater Manchester. The plan is to develop an interactive video piece that will work alongside a live dance performance.

The young people will learn how to plan, manage and produce their own video piece from conception to performance. They will get the opportunity to develop the technical and creative skills that are needed in this area.

Young Oldham Dance are choreographing their own dance performance based on a workshop being delivered by Tom Rodham. Tom is a member of dance duo New Art Club who create work which is a unique blend of dance and comedy.

Artists Richard and Lucas delivered an information workshop with the young people in March to highlight the potential for the project. They will return to deliver the main workshops in May.

The project will be delivered in partnership with Oldham Arts Development Team and will culminate in a live public performance in July.
